Back in the water
March 19, 2008 |

My boat went back in the water on Monday after being laid up for winter work for the past four weeks. The engine was serviced before she came out of the water but with a little help from my father I antifouled the hull and did a couple of minor gelcoat repairs. After antifouling the hull we polished the topsides which now look lovely. The engine cold start problem seems to be getting worse. Warm starting is no problem and she usually starts after one maybe two turns, but cold starting can take over 50 turns. I think there is air getting into the fuel supply somewhere after the primary fuel filter but I’m buggered if I can find it. I think I’ll be spending a small fortune with a volvo engineer to trace the problem.
