Siftables – toy blocks that think

by Mark on February 15, 2009

This is awesome. Although the tag line for siftables is toy blocks that think these are going to be so much more than toys.  Tactile tiles that can and do interact and are spacially aware of each other these will be the learning blocks for the next generation of children, and there is commercial application for grown ups here too.  For instance, I can already see that these could be used in say a brainstorming session, to organise and display data, or in a car sales room to pick and match interior leather, paint colour, styling etc.  It’s not in the video demo but what if they could be dockable and could interface with other devices to download, upload, share and learn?

Brilliant. It will be interesting to see what develops from this concept. I have a bright 3-year-old granddaughter who would love them.
