I’ve been following the campaign of Alex Alley in his People’s Boat campaign to raise funds to compete in the 2011/12 Global Ocean Race.  The general idea is that rather than securing a single boat sponsor that the entry will be sponsored by lots of individual and SME sponsors.  At the end of the campaign the boat will be sold and a donation made to to charity out of the proceeds.  It’s a bold and brave concept and I for one wish Alex the best in raising the necessary funds to make this happen.

Putting my money where my mouth is I’ve already purchased pixel space on the boat.  Sponsorship starts from as little as £25 per pixel.  More detail on that here.  I’ve also purchased a branded peoplesboat Musto Jacket and Polo shirt as modeled below…
