What really motivates us

I met some interesting people at last nights linchpin meetup in Birmingham one of who shared this presentation with me. It’s a napkin style discussion about what motivates people which feeds from Maslow’s hierachy of needs and presents it in todays speak for todays economy.

If anyone can tell me who the narrator is there are extra points on offer. I think the voice is very close to David Allen of GTD fame but I’m not convinced it’s him.

“STREET LEGAL” BUMPER CARS

Would you do 100 MPH in one of these?

Road-legal bumper cars do just that.

Yes, you read that right; these little beasties are street legal. Either
Kawasaki or Honda motorcycle engines for power, and retired vintage
bumper car bodies – transformed into the most awesome form of mini-car we’ve
ever seen.

There’s seven of these little monsters floating around California , and
they’re all the creation of one man, Tom Wright, a gyro-gear loose builder
on the outskirts of San Diego who figured the leftovers of the Long Beach
Pike amusement park needed a more dignified end than the trash heap.

They were originally powered by Harley engines but rattled like heck: so Tom
replace them with Honda or Kawasaki 750′s … and a couple have been
‘measured’ [not run at] theoretically as capable of 160 MPH which is
terrifyingly fast in machines with such a short wheelbase!

XV304 Wheels up landing

XV304 had a wheels up landing at Brize on Thursday evening. (Apparently they were doing circuits, and the crew forgot the undercarriage was up, but that’s just hear-say). Attached is a photo of the result.

Lucky escape!

Read The Caption on the first photo ….then look at the second photo

Look at the picture above, and you can see where this driver broke through the guardrail, on the right side of the culvert, where people are standing on the road, pointing. The pick-up was traveling about 75 mph, from right to left, when it crashed through the guardrail. It flipped end-over-end, bounced off and across the culvert

outlet, and landed right-side-up on the left side of the culvert, facing the opposite direction from which the driver was traveling. The 22-year-olddriver and his

18-year-old passenger were unhurt, except for minor cuts and bruises.

Just outside Flagstaff , AZ on U.S. Hwy 100.

Robert Gupta talking about music from a medicinal viewpoint. The video concludes with prelude from Bach's cello suite No.1 which you will know albeit it it's usually played on a cello rather than a violin.

I loved this video.
